Men’s Soccer Squares Off Against Red Flash Sunday

Bison take on NEC-leading Saint Francis at Greene Stadium

WASHINGTON (October 18, 2025) – Howard University men's soccer team looks to extend its winning streak as it prepares for a key home showdown against NEC contender Saint Francis University Sunday (Oct. 19) at 1 p.m., at Greene Stadium.

MATCHUP PREVIEW
 
HOWARD (3-9-1, 2-3-0 NEC)
 
Howard enters Sunday's match riding a wave of momentum after earning back-to-back NEC victories, including a dominant 4-1 performance over Chicago State Thursday night (Oct. 16) at Greene Stadium.
 
The Bison showcased a balanced offensive attack with four different players scoring, highlighted by Daniil Kaban (Kharkiv, Ukraine), who opened the scoring early, and Jude Spallinger (Bluffton, Ohio), who netted his first collegiate goal.
 
Roman Stallings (Tyrone, Ga.) and Naim Robinson (Detroit, Mich.) added second-half goals, both assisted by Zach Simmons (Rockwall, Texas), who recorded two assists on the night.
 
In goal, Liam Keiller (Gaithersburg, Md.) continued to anchor the backline with four saves, helping the Bison secure their most convincing win of the season.
 
Howard has now scored seven goals across its last two matches and will look to maintain
its attacking rhythm against one of the conference's top teams.
 
SAINT FRANCIS (5-4-3, 3-1-1 NEC)
 
Saint Francis travels to the nation's capital after a commanding 5-1 home win over New Haven Thursday (Oct. 16).
 
The Red Flash have emerged as one of the NEC's top offensive units, scoring five goals for the second time in three matches.
 
Forward Alex De Nittis led the way with two goals and an assist, continuing his recent hot streak with points in three straight games. Álvaro Planas added two more goals in a two-minute span, bringing his season total to four. Julian Quiroga notched his first career assist while goalkeeper Diego Garciarena recorded a career-high seven saves.
 
Saint Francis has scored 11 goals across its last three games and enters Sunday's contest
looking to keep pace near the top of the conference standings.
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
Howard produced its strongest outing of the season Thursday (Oct. 16) with a 4-1 victory over Chicago State. Four different Bison found the back of the net while Simmons contributed two assists and Keiller made four saves in the win.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
Howard concludes its three-game homestand Friday (Oct. 24) with a 7 p.m., kickoff against Sacred Heart University at Greene Stadium. The match will be streamed live on NEC Front Row.
