MATCHUP PREVIEW

HOWARD (6-4-2, 4-0-1 NEC)

The Bison enter Sunday's game undefeated in their last five matches and tied for the top spot in the NEC standings.

In their most recent outing, the Bison blanked Le Moyne, 1–0, on the road, thanks to an early strike from sophomore transfer Demi Owens (Teaneck, N.J.).

Howard dictated tempo from the start, outshooting the Dolphins, 18-5, and holding them to only one shot on goal. Offensively, nine different Bison registered shot attempts against Le Moyne, led by Samantha James (Herndon, Va.) with four shots.

The Bison defense continues to stand tall, allowing just two goals over their past four matches. Trinity Knox (Atlanta) returned in goal and recorded one save in the clean sheet effort.

The balanced attack and consistent defensive pressure have helped Howard remain a top contender in the NEC.

STONEHILL (2-10-2, 1-4-0 NEC)

Stonehill nearly pulled off a dramatic second-half comeback in their last match, falling, 4-3, to Wagner despite a strong showing. Senior Hannah Anselmo netted two goals, bringing her season total to nine, while freshman Dani Lomuscio scored her first collegiate goal and added an assist.

After trailing, 4-1, at halftime, the Skyhawks stormed back with two quick goals to narrow the deficit but could not find the equalizer.

Stonehill has shown flashes of attacking quality but has struggled defensively, conceding 15 goals in their last four matches.

Anselmo and Lomuscio remain the key offensive weapons while the Skyhawks look to tighten up defensively against a high-powered Howard offense.

LAST TIMEOUT

Howard defeated Le Moyne, 1-0, on the road behind Owens' early goal and a dominant defensive effort.

Stonehill fell, 4-3, to Wagner after rallying back with two second-half goals but ultimately ran out of time.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Howard returns to Greene Stadium Thursday (Oct. 16) to host New Haven at 1 p.m., for Jersey Day. The match will stream live on NEC Front Row.
