NORFOLK, Va. (January 21, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its men's basketball weekly accolades where Howard University freshman standout
Blake Harper (Washington) won his 11
th consecutive Rookie of the Week award. The announcement came Monday.
Harper averaged 22.0 points and 10.0 rebounds in the matchups versus Coppin State (CSU) and Bowie State (BSU). Monday (Jan. 13), the D.C. native notched a double-double (25 points and 12 boards) while going a perfect 12-for-12 at the foul line against CSU. Two days later (Jan. 15), he registered 19 points and eight rebounds against BSU.
This season, Harper leads the MEAC in scoring (18.8 ppg) and rebounding (6.9 rpg).
Graduate forward
Cameron Shockley-Okeke (Norwalk, Conn.) earned honorable mention, averaging 23.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks against Coppin State and Bowie State.
Morgan State senior guard Kameron Hobbs was named MEAC Player of the Week while Delaware State graduate guard Martaz Robinson earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Howard returns to conference play Saturday (Jan. 25) when it travels to Norfolk, Va., to take on rival Norfolk State at 12:30 p.m., live on ESPNU.
