WASHINGTON (September 28, 2024) – Howard University women's soccer team wraps up its brief two-match homestand Sunday (Sept. 29), facing the Chicago State (CSU) Cougars in a Northeast Conference (NEC) showdown at Greene Stadium on Youth Day. Match kicks off at noon.

MATCHUP PREVIEW
HOWARD
Howard (2-4-4, 1-1 NEC) won their first NEC match, 1-0, against the Le Moyne Dolphins Thursday (Sept. 26) at Greene Stadium. The Bison will be fired up coming into this match ready to get on a win streak.
Freshman
Gabriella Garcia-Terrell (Centreville, Va.) scored the only goal versus Le Moyne, her second career goal. Sophomore goalie
Trinity Knox (Atlanta) posted a three-save shutout in their victory.
The Bison have been picked to finish third in the preseason, led by longtime head coach
Brent Leiba, who is in his 15
th year.
CHICAGO STATE
The Cougars (0-8-0, 0-2) were defeated by FDU, 2-1. CSU got outshot by the Knights, 12-2, where they scored in the 27
th and 61
st minutes. CSU's Jackie Tamayo was responsible with both Cougars shots. Since the loss, the Cougars have taken a week off the pitch.
The Cougars are projected to finish 11
th in the NEC, led by head coach Josh Reyes.
LAST TIMEOUT
Thursday (Sept. 26), the Bison took down Le Moyne and earned their first conference win of the season, 1-0.
After halftime HU turned up the intensity, collecting 20 shot attempts.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Oct. 3, Howard will be headed to Loretto, Pa., to play Saint Francis University at DeGol Field. Match kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
