Volleyball Begins MEAC Play with A Pair of Road Matches

Bison travel south to face South Carolina State and North Carolina Central

WASHINGTON (September 26, 2024) – The Howard University women's volleyball team is set to begin MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) play with a pair of road matchups, starting at South Carolina State University (SCSU) Friday (Sep. 27) at 6 p.m. Sunday (Sep. 29), the Lady Bison are set to face North Carolina Central University (NCCU) at 1 p.m.

HOWARD
 
HU (6-5) is looking to regain momentum after splitting (1-1) against Princeton and High Point (Sep. 20-21).
 
Junior outside hitter Rya McKinnon (Hoover, Ala.) leads the Bison in kills, totaling 30 in their previous matches.
 
Senior outside hitter Dami Awojobi (Hempstead, N.Y.) continues to perform for the Bison, totaling 17 kills and 11 digs in their previous matches.
 
Bison head coach Shaun Kupferberg achieved an incredible milestone of 400 career victories, with 206 wins as a Bison.
 
SOUTH CAROLINA STATE
 
South Carolina State (1-9) is looking to bounce back after six straight losses.
 
Junior outside hitter Kiyah Felder (Houston) is a standout for SCSU, averaging 2.30 kills per set and 2.63 points per set.
 
NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL
 
North Carolina Central (2-9) is looking to gain momentum after going 1-2 at the Queen City Invitational (Sep 20-21).
 
Junior outside hitter Emmie Molin (Pinehurst, N.C.) is the top performer for NCCU, totaling 31 kills and 40 digs during the two-day tourney.
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
In their previous match, the Lady Bison took care of business with a sweep of Princeton University, 3-0 (Sep. 20), but fell, 0-3, to High Point University the following day (Sep. 21).
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
