Foster Part of the Inaugural HBCU All-Stars International Tour

Former All-American set to play in Quai 54 World Streetball Championship in Paris

WASHINGTON (June 9, 2024) – HBCU All-Stars, LLC., announced its first-ever HBCU All-Stars International Tour where former Howard University standout Kyle Foster was among the named participants. The announcement came Thursday (June 6).

Foster, one of the nation's best HBCU All-Stars within the last three years, was selected to participate in the historic Quai 54 World Streetball Championship at the prestigious Pierre de Coubertin Stadium in Paris, France. The week-long event begins Wednesday (June 19) and concludes the following Wednesday (June 26). The highly anticipated game sold out in just two hours.

"This is one of the most important and rare moments in history where we get a once in a lifetime opportunity and global platform during the Olympic year in Paris to represent our esteemed HBCUs, four premier Black College conferences, the Best in Black College Basketball, and the United States of America in a part of the world where HBCUs and the HBCU culture do not exist," said Travis L. Williams, Founder and CEO, HBCU All Stars LLC. "This is history in the making to host the first-ever HBCU All-Stars International Tour in Paris, one month before the 2024 Summer Olympics take place."

In April 2022, the Hampton, Virginia native represented Bison Nation in the inaugural HBCU All-Star Game in New Orleans, which was broadcasted live on CBS during the Men's Final Four weekend.

A month later (May 2022), Foster attended the NBA G-League Elite Camp in Chicago where he showcased his talents while competing against the top 70 prospects in the world. In the summer, he played in the 2022 NBA Summer League with the Detroit Pistons.

In his final season, Foster burst onto the scene and instantly became one of the nation's top sharpshooters. The BOXTOROW First Team All-American won Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week three times while leading the Bison to their first winning season since 2001 (16-13, 9-5 MEAC).

Nearly throughout the 2021-22 season, he led the country in three-point field goal percentage, finishing at 46-percent (105-of-229). On Feb. 19, 2022, Foster joined the exclusive 1,000-point club in the win over Morgan State at the inaugural NBA HBCU Classic during the All-Star Weekend festivities.

Among the 10-player roster, Foster and former Coppin State standout Sam Sessions are this year's MEAC representatives with Cy Alexander, former Howard men's basketball assistant coach under MEAC Hall of Famer late AB Williamson, serving as head coach.

"The very deserving 10 players that have been selected from our 2022, 2023 and 2024 HBCU All-Star Games are playing professionally now in the NBA G-League, internationally overseas and doing well in pursuing their goals, dreams and aspirations of playing at the highest level in the NBA," Williams continued. "They are truly excited to represent the HBCU All-Stars Basketball Movement and the best in college basketball from our country's most esteemed Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The legendary former HBCU coach Cy Alexander will serve as the head coach, bringing a wealth of valuable experience, knowledge, expertise and respect."

With a mission to advocate, educate, expose, mentor, and invest in HBCU students, student-athletes, and coaches across the country, the event aims to showcase the "Best in Black College Basketball."  Launched by HBCU All-Stars LLC, a Black-owned sports marketing, events, and media company in Atlanta, the HBCU All-Star Game brings much-needed E.A.R. (Exposure, Access, Recognition) and O.R.R. (Opportunities, Resources, Results) while celebrating Black excellence, Black history, and Black cultural experiences at the highest level.
