Sareyah Rudd chatting with DMV native and Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Champion
Thomas Weaver (Upper Marlboro, Md.) from the men's basketball team.
Q: What is your favorite part about basketball?
A: My favorite part about basketball is competing at a high level with my brothers (teammates) and seeing the character that is revealed through sports in general.
Q: How did you get started in basketball?
A: I grew up around basketball because of my dad and his job and fell in love with the game ever since.
Q: What kept you motivated?
A: Knowing that I am an inspiration to some kid out there that I do not even know and they aspire to be like me.
Q: If you were not competing in basketball, what other sport would you do?
A: If I were not competing in basketball, I would definitely compete in football or track.
Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: I am going to be a graduate assistant at the University of Maryland for the men's basketball team.
Q: What is your favorite memory from Howard?
A: My favorite memory from Howard is playing in the NCAA Tournament.
Q: What advice would you give future Bison?
A: My advice for future Bison would be to stay focused and humble because this is a privilege to play at this prestigious university and never take it for granted because these years go by fast.
Q: Who would you like to thank?
A: I would like to thank God, my parents, my siblings, coaching staff, teammates and close friends.
