WASHINGTON (September 21, 2026) – In the recent trend of hiring in athletics, Howard University continues its practices. The Department of Athletics has named HU alum
Madison White as the new Manager of Marketing, Ticketing and Fan Engagement.
In 2023, White received her bachelor's degree in media, journalism and film communications. During her tenure at The Mecca, White served as a ticketing student in Burr for Howard football and basketball teams.
"It is so full circle, coming back to Howard for the exact role I did as a student," said an excited White. "Now, I am leading a team of ticketing students and game day volunteers. I am so excited for the opportunity."
A native of Long Island, New York, White graduated with her A.A. in Liberal Arts from Nassau Community College's honors program.
During her time at Howard, she took on several experiences that enhanced her journey.
After declaring her minor in sports administration, Madison began exploring roles that reflected her passion for media, community outreach and sports. In her senior year, she coached tennis at a local summer camp in D.C. and was an inaugural social media intern for Swish Cultures.
She continued to gain more experience within the sports industry while working in Player Operations for the 2024 U.S. Open, along with her role at the Long Island Nets in Public Relations.
When the position became open, it as an easy decision to seek out White.
"We are so excited to have Madison return and give back to where she attended," noted
Denise Brown-Lozada, Howard Senior Assistant Athletic Director of Budget and Finance. "She brings someone who is familiar with the operations and has gone out to pay her dues to bring something to Howard."
White adds that she especially relishes the challenge of working with the Howard students, who will be part of her team.
"The biggest goal is to be adaptable, listen to the students and their input," commented White. "There have been some changes during the short time that I have been away. The biggest thing is that we are now digital. The students will be instrumental in helping the transition, allowing their input will be important to making improvements and functioning at a high level. It is a reminder to why I chose Howard in the first place and now it is paying off."
