BALTIMORE (November 24, 2024) – Junior
Zuilda Nwaeze (Columbia, Md.) and sophomore
Chanice Posada (Houston) led the Howard University women's swimming & diving team with individual victories at the annual H2ounds Invitational, hosted by Loyola (Md.) in Baltimore.
Nwaeze won a pair of races in the 50 Free (23.23) and 100 Free (50.08), respectively. For her efforts in the 100 Free, the Maryland native set a new meet record.
For Posada, she earned first in the 100 Back with a 55.30 mark. The Houston native also grabbed a pair of bronze medals in the 100 Fly (55.96) and 200 Back (2:03.08).
Overall, the Bison took third place after scoring 1,745.5 points.
Nwaeze, Posada and seniors
Kelsey Roberson (West Orange, N.J.) and
Zaylie-Elizabeth Thompson (Nassau, Bahamas) finished runner-up in the 400 Medley Relay, producing a 3:45.85 time.
Individually, Thompson took home silver in the 100 Breast at 1:03.91.
On the board, senior
Jordynn Connell (Flower Mound, Texas) claimed third place in the 1-meter (207.53) and 3-meter (211.20) events.
Loyola won the 2024 H2ounds Invite after tallying 3,600 points. John Hopkins finished runner-up, posting 2,082 points.
The Bison will be on a near month long break, returning Dec. 15 for the CSCAA Open Water Championship.
