On offense, the Bison will rely on the running and passing of redshirt sophomore quarterback Ja'Shawn Scroggins (95 carries for 477 yards & 3 TDs; 115-of-215 for 1,166 yards, 8 TDs & 9 INTs).
 
The run game is led by the duo of MEAC Offensive Preseason Player of the Year graduate
Jarett Hunter (159 rushes for 743 yards & 5 TDs; 23 receptions for 147 yards & a TD) and his backfield mate junior Eden James (90 carries for 414 yards & 3 TDs).
 
The passing game will be bolstered by senior wide receivers Isiah Williams (35 catches for 401 yards & 2 TDs) and Kasey Hawthorne (37 receptions for 414 yards & 3 TDs).
 
The offensive line is anchored by senior all conference guard Darius Fox (Washington).
 
Defensively, All-American safety Kenny Gallop Jr. (Portsmouth, Va.) leads the team in tackles (77 total tackles, 7.0 TFLs, 3.0 sacks, 4 PBs, a FF & a FR).
 
Gallop has plenty of help in senior All-MEAC linebacker Terrance Hollon (65 total tackles, 5.5 TFLs, 3.5 sacks, 4 FRs & 2 FFs), graduate defensive back Carson Hinton (42 total tackles, 4.0 TFLs & 6 PBs) and senior defensive back Robert Jones III (39 total tackles, 3 INTs, 7 PBs, a FR & a blocked kick).
 
Up front, the duo of junior Noah Miles (34 total tackles, 10.5 TFLs, 7.0 sacks, a FF & a FR), sophomore Ishaun Abdul-Ali (27 total tackles, 8.0 TFLs, 5.0 sacks, a FF, a FR & a blocked kick).

MSU is led offensively at quarterback by the duo of redshirt junior quarterback Duce Taylor (80-of-115 for 847 yards & 3 TDs) and sophomore Tahj Smith (65-of-116 for 708 yards & 3 TDs), freshman running back Jason Collins, Jr (102 carries for 520 yards & 6 TDs), senior RB Myles Miree (105 carries for 417 yards & 8 TDs).
 
The receiving corps is senior wide receiver Andre Crawley (47 receptions for 513 yards & 2 TDs), sophomore Malique Leatherbury (27 receptions for 228 yards & a TD) and graduate Marquez Phillips (17 receptions for 262 yards & a TD).
