DURHAM, N.C. (November 15, 2024) - Howard University women's soccer team concluded its historic season Friday night in Koskinen Stadium with an 8-0 loss to No. 1 Duke in the NCAA Tournament.

After holding off the Blue Devils through the first 18 minutes, Duke's lead scorer Mia Minestrella notched her first of four goals.

Howard saw its first scoring opportunity just four minutes later with
Rachel Suttle's (Smyrna, Del.) shot to the upper right of the net, forcing the keeper in on the action.

Minestrella followed up with another goal just minutes later to give the Blue Devils a 2-0 lead at the half.

Three Blue Devils added the final six goals for Duke.

Aiming to get on the board with two minutes left to go, senior
Zoe Moore (Lutz, Fla.) took Howard's second shot of the night but was just high of the goal.

Facing 31 shots, two-time Northeast Conference (NEC) Goalkeeper of the Year
Trinity Knox (Atlanta) tied her season-high with 11 saves.

The Bison ends their historic season as NEC Regular Season Champions, NEC Tournament Champions and a four-time NCAA Tournament team after going 11-5-5 (8-1-1 NEC).
