WASHINGTON (October 30, 2024) – The Howard University men's soccer team is set to take on FDU Thursday, October 31, at home in D.C. The pivotal Northeast Conference (NEC) match will kick off at 7 p.m., at Greene Stadium.

The Bison (2-8-3, 2-2-1 NEC) are looking to get back on track after a tough 2-0 road loss at Le Moyne Sunday (Oct. 27).
 
Key players to watch include leading scorer 
Mason Christian (Fulton, Md.), who has tallied six goals this season. Sophomore midfielder 
Zach Simmons (Rockwell, Texas) has also been pivotal in creating scoring opportunities.
 
Defensively, goalkeeper 
Liam Keiller (Gaithersburg, Md.) has been solid between the posts, ranking among the top in the NCAA with numerous saves. Graduate transfer 
Romario Simpson (Toronto, Canada) continues to make his mark with critical contributions on defense.
 
FDU
 
FDU (7-4-4, 3-2-1 NEC) is eager to make a statement after their previous match, coming off a 3-0 win against Mercyhurst; thus, presenting a significant challenge for the Bison.
 
The Knights were projected to finish fourth in the NEC, led by first-year head coach Jaymee Highcock.
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
Sunday (Oct. 27), Le Moyne took control early and won, 2-0, over the Bison.
 
After halftime, Howard tightened its defense, allowing only three shot attempts; however, the Bison struggled to generate offense and were unable to score.
 
Three different players registered shots for Howard: senior forward 
Bryson Baker (Ellicott City, Md.), redshirt sophomore 
Troy Matingou (Round Rock, Texas), and freshman defender 
Kuba Cihak (Prague, Czech Republic).
In goal, Keiller made four saves, keeping the Bison in the match despite the loss.
