Howard University Continues Partnership With AT&T

Several interactive activations during HU Homecoming 100

WASHINGTON (October 24, 2024) – Howard University Director of Athletics Kery Davis announced the continuation of its valued partnership with AT&T. This partnership was significant part of Bison Madness and celebration of the 100th Homecoming festivities, featuring several interactive activations.

Howard Football hosted Tennessee State at Greene Stadium Saturday (Oct. 19) in its annual Homecoming contest, a game that held a special place in the hearts of the HBCU Community.

"This partnership has been exciting for our entire athletics department and the greater Howard University," Davis said. "We have appreciated all of the efforts they have made throughout their contract. More importantly, I am happy that our student-athletes have continued to benefit greatly from our partnership with AT&T."

AT&T activated during last weekend's football game as part of the 100th Homecoming festivities by offering a unique, fashion-forward experience for students to showcase their Bison pride. Inspired by cultural trends in fashion and fandom, students had the opportunity to participate in a digital runway experience and received exclusive merchandise designed by HBCU alumni and AT&T Rising Future Maker winner, Oluade Swan.

Within the activation space, students also learned more about the AT&T Rising Future Makers Showcase, which is currently open for submissions until Nov. 2.

The AT&T Rising Future Makers Showcase is a program that uplifts and celebrates an esteemed class of 25 HBCU students making a difference in their communities and on campus, providing them with the connections, networks and opportunities to support their dreams and ambitions. Students selected as part of the Class of 2024 will receive $5,000 to support their dreams, a 5G-enabled device with complimentary AT&T service for one-year, professional workshop opportunities and mentorship from industry experts aimed at expanding their networks and furthering their career opportunities. Currently, enrolled HBCU students can learn more about the program and how to apply at https://www.att.com/rfmshowcase/.

Additionally, to celebrate Howard University's 100th Homecoming, AT&T honored students and alumni who have significantly contributed to building community and fostering connections across the campus. These individuals were recognized in a VIP gifting and pinning ceremony, with honors presented by a member of Howard University leadership alongside an AT&T representative. This gesture reflects AT&T's commitment to Howard and its mission to inspire greater possibilities through connection.
