HOWARD
HU (13-5) is looking to extend its win streak against the Retrievers. Currently, Howard has the seventh best defense in the country, allowing an opponent .143 hitting percentage.
Junior outside hitter
Rya McKinnon (Hoover, Ala.) continues to perform for the Bison, winning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week for the second straight week.
Fellow classmate
Leah Reeves (Allen, Texas) was selected MEAC Setter of the Week for the fourth week in a row.
UMBC
UMBC (-11) is also looking to keep the momentum going after back-to-back wins over Coppin State (Oct. 16) and New Hampshire (Oct. 20).
Mia Bilusic leads the Retrievers with 215 total kills (3.58 kills per set) while setters Serin Maden and Izzy Ostvig spearhead the offense.
LAST TIMEOUT
Sunday (Oct. 20), the Bison extended its win streak after defeating Norfolk State (NSU) in straight sets (25-15, 25-19, 25-9).
McKinnon led the Bison attack with 14 kills while producing a .444 hitting percentage in the win.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Howard is set to play South Carolina State (Oct. 25) at 6 p.m. Two days later (Oct. 27), the Lady Bison face North Carolina Central at 1 p.m. Both matchups take place inside The Burr.
