NORFOLK, Va. (January 3, 2024) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's basketball weekly honors where Howard University graduate forward
Seth Towns (Columbus, Ohio) won the league's Defensive Player of the Week award. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.
In Saturday's victory at La Salle (Dec. 30), Towns recorded a double-double (18 points & 12 boards) while racking up three dimes, two steals and a block.
Currently, Towns is third in the conference in scoring (15.8 ppg) and rebounding (6.8 rpg).
Junior guard
Marcus Dockery (Washington) received honorable mention after producing 21 points in the road win against La Salle.
Maryland Eastern Shore forward Troy Hupstead was named MEAC Offensive Player of the Week while Delaware State guard Deywilk Tavarez earned Rookie of the Week.
The Bison open MEAC play Saturday (Jan. 6) when they travel to Durham, N.C., to take on the Eagles of North Carolina Central. Tipoff is scheduled for noon and will be aired on ESPNU.
