Women's Soccer Takes On Stonehill Sunday

Bison looking to get back in the win column

WASHINGTON (September 30, 2023) – Howard University women's soccer team returns to The District Sunday (Oct. 1), taking on Stonehill in a Northeast Conference (NEC) clash. Match time is slated for 1 p.m., at Greene Stadium.

HOWARD
 
HU (8-3-1, 3-1 NEC) is looking to rebound after a tough loss at NEC Preseason Favorite Central Connecticut State, 2-1.
 
Entering Sunday's clash, Howard tops the league with 2.75 goals per match. Junior Melea Earley (La Mirada, Calif.) ranks second in the NEC with nine total goals while, defensively, freshman goalie Trinity Knox (Atlanta) is second in the conference with a .827 save percentage.
 
STONEHILL
 
Stonehill is seeking its first win of the season (0-11-1, 0-4 NEC) despite several close bouts.
 
This season, the Skyhawks have only scored four goals. Defensively, Mia Jackson has led the charge with 54 total saves.
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
Thursday (Sept. 28), HU saw its seven-game win streak snapped Thursday afternoon with a 2-1 loss to Central Connecticut State.
 
Earley scored in the 16th minute against the Blue Devils.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
On Oct. 8, Howard begins a brief two-match road trip at Sacred Heart. Kickoff is set for noon in Fairfield, Conn.
