WASHINGTON (September 30, 2023) – Howard University men's soccer team wraps up its season-long eight-match road trip Sunday (Oct. 1), facing Merrimack in a Northeast Conference (NEC) showdown. Match time is set for 4 p.m.

HOWARD
For HU (0-6-1, 0-1 NEC), they resume conference play after a tough 3-1 loss at Big Ten Penn State.
Graduate
Roy Henderson (Fredericksburg, Va.) and junior
Marcus Lewis (Toronto, Canada) lead the Bison with four points each.
Since his return, All-NEC selection junior
Bryson Baker (Ellicott City, Md.) has provided a spark to the offense. In the last four contests, HU is averaging a goal per match.
MERRIMACK
On Sept. 24, Merrimack (2-4-1, 0-1, NEC) dropped its league opener at Sacred Heart, 4-1.
Johan Feilscher and Liam Ziegler spearhead the Warriors this season, tallying four points (two goals) apiece.
Defensively, Alvaro Rodriguez has started six contests at goalie with 27 total saves.
LAST TIMEOUT
Wednesday (Sept. 27), HU grabbed the upper hand early and held the lead for nearly 70 minutes against one of the top programs in the country, but the Penn State Nittany Lions rallied with three goals in the final 20 minutes to down HU, 3-1, at Jeffrey Field in University Park, Pa.
Henderson found Lewis in the opening moments, stunning the Nittany Lions while putting HU ahead, 1-0.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Oct. 8, Howard hosts Stonehill in its home opener. Match time is slated for 1 p.m., at Greene Stadium.
