MATCHUP PREVIEW
HOWARD
After a week off, HU (1-2-1) seeks to get back in the win column after a heartbreaking loss to Middle Tennessee State, 1-0 (Aug. 27).
Offensively, the Bison have produced 10 goals, led by junior forward
Melea Earley (La Mirada, Calif.) with three scores.
Defensively, freshman goalkeeper
Trinity Knox (Atlanta) has gotten the starting nod in all four contests. The Atlanta native has played 315 minutes while racking up 20 saves so far this year.
LONGWOOD
LU (1-2-2) enters Sunday's showdown looking to get back on track after a tough 2-1 loss versus Liberty. Longwood has only accumulated two goals on the season in five contests but allowed only three total goals in the same span.
Peyton Curney and Emma Jones are the only Lancers to record goals this season. Defensively, Mary Kate Levush has stopped 19 shots in all five starts at the net.
LAST TIMEOUT
On Aug. 27, the Bison suffered a last-minute loss, 1-0, to Middle Tennessee State in what was an evenly matched battle throughout 90 minutes.
Senior
Marli Berry (Orangevale, Calif.) led the Bison offense with two shots on goal while Knox recorded four saves in the 90 minutes.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Thursday (Sept. 7), HU travels crosstown to face George Washington. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. on ESPN+.
