MATCHUP PREVIEW
Sunday's clash will be the 21st meeting between HU and UMBC with the Retrievers leading the all-time series, 15-2-3.
The last meeting between the two teams took place in 2021 where the Retrievers were victorious in a 2-1 overtime victory.
HOWARD
HU (0-2) looks to get in the win column after a pair of tough loss to open the season.
Howard has been without All-NEC First Team selection junior
Bryson Baker (Ellicott City, Md.) for the first two matches. Last season, the Maryland native tallied six goals, the most on the squad.
Before the season, HU was projected to finish seventh in the Northeast Conference.
UMBC
UMBC enters Sunday night unbeaten (2-0-1) with wins over George Mason, 4-3, and Liberty, 3-0.
Taylor Calheira leads the Retrievers attack, scoring four goals in three contests this season. Last month, the UMBC senior was listed amongst the top 32 strikers in the nation, heading into the 2023 campaign.

Friday (Sept. 1), HU fell on the road at Navy, 6-0, Friday night in Annapolis, Md.

Benjamin Hoesli (Bern, Switzerland) returned to the net, recording three saves in the first 10 minutes before notching three more through 90 minutes.

On Sept. 12, the Bison return from a long layoff to battle North Carolina State. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
