ATLANTA (September 16, 2023) – Howard Volleyball (3-7) opened the weekend with a straight set loss (17-25, 13-25, 13-25) to host No. 10 Georgia Tech (GT) in Atlanta.
Senior outside hitter Jennifer Bolden (Los Angeles) led the Bison attack with eight kills while producing a .333 hitting percentage.
Reigning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Co-Setter of the Year Kayla Diaz (Rockland, N.Y.) recorded 18 assists, five digs and three total blocks on the afternoon.
Defensively, sophomore libero Claire Simpson (Plainfield, Ill.) managed nearly half of the Bison's digs (11) in the defeat.
For GT (8-1), the Yellow Jackets were dominant throughout the matchup, eclipsing a .400 hitting percentage. Liv Mogridge had a match-high nine kills, along with five total blocks in the victory.
The Bison return to action tomorrow (Sept. 17) at 3 p.m. to finish out the Georgia Tech Invitational with SEC opponent Georgia.
