WASHINGTON (August 24, 2023) –
Charles Lawrence matriculated to Howard University in the fall of 1977 where he walked on the football team. Armed with a strong desire to become a student-athlete, he received a scholarship and went on to become a three-year letterman.
In 1980, the program was ranked No. 6 in the Sheridan Black College Football Poll and
Ronald Wilson was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference MEAC Offensive Player of the Year. That same season, Howard ranked No.1 in Nation (I-AA) in Pass Defense.
In 1982, Lawrence went on to graduate with a BA degree in Political Science.
After undergrad, Lawrence was past Vice President and Recruitment Chair with the Howard University Atlanta Club. He also recently became the first in his family to run for a political office when he filed to become a candidate for a seat on the Atlanta School Board.
Today, Lawrence is the owner of the Lawrence Marketing and Global Group, which includes Charles Lawrence Realty and Lawrence Political Consulting, along with Akasha Communications, which has published three books: BUYING YOUR FIRST HOME; THE GENIUS OF THE BLACK WOMAN and A PARENT YOU CAN TRUST.
Charles is married to Briggette and they have three adult children.
