CLEVELAND (August 1, 2023) – Phil Steele, nationally known as one of the best football analysts in the entire country, unveiled his 2023 Preseason FCS All-American Team where Howard University saw graduate offensive lineman
Anim Dankwah (Ontario, Canada) named to the team. The announcement came Friday (July 28).
Recently, Dankwah was named to the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 List after starting all 11 games for the Bison a year ago. Additionally, 6-foot-8, 362-pound lineman earned multiple postseason honors, including 2022 Bluebloods All-Conference First Team and 2022 Phil Steele FCS All-MEAC First Team. The Canadian native was an All-MEAC First Team selection and helped Howard earn a share of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championship, its first since 1993.
In addition, 15 Bison made the 2023 Phil Steele Preseason All-Conference Team.

Brennan Brown (Dallas); defensive back
Kenny Gallop, Jr. (Portsmouth, Va.); wide receiver
Kasey Hawthorne (Sebring, Fla.); running back
Jarett Hunter (Mineral, Va.); offensive lineman
DeShawn Ingram (Detroit) and defensive lineman
Jevin Jackson (Lawrenceville, Ga.).
The second team consisted of Hawthorne (All-Purpose), defensive lineman
Darrian Brokenburr (Manassas, Va.), offensive lineman
Darius Fox (Washington), defensive back
Robert Jones III (Fairwood, Va.), running back/kick returner
Ian Wheeler (Houston), linebacker
Christian White (Highland Springs, Va.) and quarterback
Quinton Williams (Upper Marlboro, Md.).
Third-year Bison linebacker
Terrance Hollon (Cleveland) and sophomore punter
Aaron Bickerton (Bonita Springs, Fla.) were selected to the third team.
