CARY, N.C. (April 28, 2023) – No. 4 Howard University women's tennis team saw its title hopes come to an end, falling to top-seeded South Carolina State (SCSU), 4-1, in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Semifinal Round.
In a tough outing during the MEAC Quarterfinal round, All-MEAC selection rookie
Selah Stibbins finished her freshman campaign on a high note, topping SCSU's Rachida Berjane in straight sets (6-2, 6-1).
Overall, she finished with a 10-7 singles mark, including 8-7 as the club's No. 2 singles player.
South Carolina State won the other four singles contests to move on to the championship match.
SCSU faces No. 3 Delaware State in the title match Saturday (April 29) at 9 a.m.
