WASHINGTON (April 16, 2023) – Howard University men's tennis team wrapped up its home schedule with an easy 6-0 victory over Coppin State (CSU) at Banneker Recreation Center.
HU rolled through doubles competition, winning all three contests.
Junior
Justin Cadeau (West Orange, N.J.) and sophomore
Marcel Dawson (Columbus, Ga.) served as the club's No. 1 doubles team, taking down CSU's Anas Haddou and Rishi Jalota, 6-2.
In singles play, Cadeau dominated reigning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week Vansh Kapoor, winning in straight sets (6-1, 6-2).
Dawson also win in two sets (6-4, 6-2) while fellow classmate
Daniel Dunac (Washington) edged out Jalota in a three-set thriller (6-2, 4-6, 1-0 [9-7]).
Thursday (April 20), HU (4-11, 2-2 MEAC) returns to Baltimore to face Morgan State in the regular season finale. Match time slated for 3 p.m.
