ORANGEBURG, S.C. (February 26, 2023) - Howard University men's basketball team will be looking to snap a two-game losing streak when it takes on the Bulldogs of South Carolina State (SCSU) Monday (Feb. 27) at 7:30 p.m.

LAST TIMEOUT
The Bison (17-12, 9-3 MEAC) fell, 68-60, to North Carolina Central on the road Saturday (Feb. 25).
Howard got 20 points from its bench and scored 42 points in the paint, but the Bison shot a season-low four free throw attempts.

Shy Odom (Roxbury, Mass.), the odds-on-favorite Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Rookie of the Year, led the way with 15 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore guard

SERIES RECORD
Howard defeated SCSU, 100-74, on January 30 in Burr Gymnasium, but the Bulldogs hold a 9-7 advantage dating back to 2006. The Bison have won two-in-a-row and three-of-the-last four. South Carolina State defeated Howard, 58-55, in Orangeburg last year.

The loss dropped Howard to a first-place tie with Norfolk State. The two will meet Thursday (March 2) at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.
Howard again played without the services of redshirt junior forward
Steve Settle, III (Glenarden, Md.), who has a head injury. Settle, an All-MEAC candidate, along with Hawkins, is the team's second-leading scorer and team leader in rebounding and blocked shots. His status for Monday's game is unknown at present time.
SOUTH CAROLINA STATE
The Bulldogs (5-23, 2-10 MEAC) have lost three-in-a-row, the most recent, an 88-76 decision to Norfolk State at home Saturday (Feb. 25).
SCSU is led by junior guard Rakeim Gary (11.5 ppg, team-leading 68 total assists and 25 total steals), sophomore guard Lesown Hellums (11.0 ppg), junior forward Justin Wilson (20 total blocked shots) and junior guards Cameron Jones (8.9 points per game) and Rahsaan Edwards (8.1 ppg, second on team with 58 total assists).
