NORFOLK, Va. (November 30, 2023) - The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its women's basketball weekly honors where Howard University redshirt freshman guard Tyana Walker (Leawood, Kan.) received MEAC Rookie of the Week. The announcement came Wednesday morning (Nov. 29).
 
Walker made up a third of Howard's scoring, leading the Bison offense with 18 points while tallying four rebounds and three steals against Manhattan (Nov. 26).
 
On the season, the 5-foot-9 guard is averaging 12.9 points and 3.7 rebounds for the Bison.
 
Coppin State junior forward Laila Lawrence was named MEAC Player of the Week while North Carolina Central junior forward Morgan Callahan earned Defensive Player of the Week.
 
The Bison return to action Thursday (Nov. 30) when they face crosstown rival Georgetown inside McDonough Arena at 7 p.m.
