WASHINGTON (September 21, 2022) – Howard University men's soccer team was unable to slow down crosstown rival George Washington (GW), falling to the Colonials, 5-0.
Moments into the contest, GW's Elias Norris scored on an unassisted goal and put the Colonials ahead, 1-0.
At the 38-minute mark, Tiago Carvalho found Oscar Haynes Brown for GW's second goal and took a 2-0 advantage into halftime.
After intermission, Aaron Kronenberg extended George Washington's lead, 3-0, followed by another goal from Brown at the 63-minute mark, 4-0.
With time dwindling, Alex Nicholson registered his second goal of the season, thanks to an assist from Elias Norris, 5-0.

JR Gawel (St. Mary's, Md.) recorded seven saves in the loss.
Sunday (Sept. 25), Howard travels to Brooklyn, N.Y., to face St. Francis-Brooklyn. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
