ANNAPOLIS, Md. (September 16, 2022) – Howard University men's and women's cross country team competed in the Navy Invitational, each placing ninth overall in the event.
 
Seniors 
Ayoade Adebiyi (Virginia Beach, Va.) and 
Breanna McDonald (Bethesda, Md.) led the way.
 
On the men's side, Adebiyi was the top finisher for HU, clocking in at 26:08.40. Sophomores 
Julian Lawson (Sewell, N.J.) and 
Marsellis Davis (Columbus, Ohio) recorded times of 27:10.60 and 29:14.10, respectively.
 
For the women, McDonald registered a 24:17.00 time, followed by fifth-year senior 
Melanie White (Orlando) with a mark of 24:33.70.
 
Navy won both races, led by Alexander Rizzo (23:47.10) and Emily Boutin (21:37.80), respectively.
 
On Sept. 30, HU travels to Bethlehem, Pa., for the Paul Short Run, hosted by Leigh University. The men's race starts at 9:30 a.m., followed by the women's race at 10:15 a.m.
