“Where Are They Now?” Featuring Leo Lundy III

Former soccer standout helping the South Florida community

WASHINGTON (July 21, 2022) - Leo Lundy III is a native of Freeport, Bahamas, but was raised in Rockville, Maryland, where he was a member of the Howard University men's soccer team (1993-95) under Coach Keith Tucker.

Lundy was recruited by other Division I programs but decided to take an academic scholarship from Howard's College of Architecture under Dean Robinson. He credits that as being the best decision in his life because the HBCU experience at The Mecca was priceless.

On the field, he finished second on the team with seven goals his freshman year, highlighted by a match-winning goal on the road at Navy, 1-0.

Before being recruited by Coach Tucker, Lundy was part of the two-time Maryland State champion Rockville High School Rams (1991 & 1992). The all-round captain led the squad in scoring all four years while maintaining a 3.5 GPA.

Lundy also credits the Howard experience with his success in business.

After leaving Howard, Lundy pursued his education at University of Maryland at College Park were he received BA in College of Behavioral and Social Sciences.

Today, Lundy is the President/Founder of Lundy & Associates Inc., the largest minority-owned Staffing Agency in South Florida, which he started in 2006. Lundy's job consists of overseeing a staff of over 167 employees. His mission is to provide quality jobs to the community while focusing on giving second chances to those who have been cast aside by the prison industrial complex.

Also, family is most important to him with two daughters, who he hopes will attend Howard. Lundy credits his success to his wife, who has been beside him for 15 years. Since 2005, his home base is Jupiter, Florida, which is 15 minutes north of West Palm Beach.

Lundy dedicates his time working with organizations, such as Chrysalis Health in Florida to battle against Behavioral and Mental Health disorders in children.
