CARY, N.C. (April 29, 2022) – No. 3 Howard University men's tennis team saw its title hopes come to an end in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Semifinal Round, falling to No. 2 Morgan State (MSU), 4-0.
In doubles competition, MSU won a pair of contests and took an early 1-0 match lead into singles play.
In singles play, sophomore
Hassimiyou Dieng (Dakar, Senegal) and All-MEAC selection
Tory Bailey (Los Angeles) held match leads but were unable to finish due to the Bears clinching three victories beforehand.
HU fell to 6-8 overall with the loss, but secured its first winning season in league play since 2013.
After reaching the semifinal round for the second consecutive year, the Bison look to build on this year's success as they continue their pursuit of a MEAC Championship.
