WASHINGTON (March 8, 2022) – No. 1 Howard University women's basketball team battles No. 8 Delaware State (DSU) in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Tournament Quarterfinals Wednesday (March 9) inside the Norfolk Scope Arena. Tipoff is slated for noon.

MATCHUP PREVIEW
Wednesday's clash will be the third meeting between Howard and Delaware State this season with HU taking the first two matchups during the regular season.
On Feb. 7, the Bison swamped DSU all night, defeating the Hornets, 83-49, at Memorial Hall.
Five days later (Feb. 12), Howard's defense was too much for the Lady Hornets, forcing 28 turnovers while cruising past Delaware State, 83-44, inside Burr Gymnasium.

HU (17-9) enters the tournament as the top seed after winning a share of the MEAC regular season crown.
This season, the Bison are led by junior
Iyanna Warren (Accokeek, Md.) and sophomores
Destiny Howell (Queens, N.Y.) and
Anzhane' Hutton (Dallas). After the season, Hutton received All-MEAC First Team recognition and All-Defensive Team honor while Howell and Warren earned All-MEAC Second Team.
DELAWARE STATE
For DSU (0-23), they are searching for their first win of the season under first-year head coach E.C. Hill.
All-Rookie Team selection Unique Miller spearhead the young Lady Hornets, averaging 8.3 points per game.
LAST TIMEOUT
Thursday (March 3), the Bison came up short in their regular season finale at Norfolk State, 62-58, inside Echols Hall.
Third-year Bison
Brooklynn Fort-Davis (Chicago) notched her third consecutive double-double, finishing with 15 points and 11 boards (game-high).
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
With the victory, HU will meet the winner of No. 4 Coppin State and No. 5 Maryland Eastern Shore Friday (March 11) at noon.
