NORFOLK, Va. (March 20, 2022) – Howard University women's lacrosse team fell to Old Dominion (ODU), 22-2, thanks to the Lady Monarchs outscoring HU, 16-0, in the first two quarters.
With the setback, Howard drops to 1-7 overall while ODU improved to 5-6 on the season.
After taking a commanding 16-0 advantage, Old Dominion extended the lead with three more goals, 19-0.
Before the end of the third, second-year Bison
Kayla Rose (Uniondale, N.Y.) registered her second career goal and got HU on the board.
Junior
Quai Skeete-Ridley (New Carrollton, Md.) scored moments into the fourth, giving the Bison their second goal on the afternoon.
Skeete-Ridley won three draw controls while fellow classmate
Josie Mallory (Charlottesville, Va.) added two of her own.
Newcomer
Anya Waller (King of Prussia, Pa.) recorded seven saves in the loss.
For ODU, Lilly Siskind and Maddie Mullenbach each produced three goals in the victory.
Saturday (March 26), HU travels to North Andover, Mass., to face Merrimack in the conference opener. Match time is slated for 1 p.m.
