WASHINGTON (September 30, 2021) – Howard University women's volleyball team ends its brief two-match home stand Friday (Oct. 1) against Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) rival Norfolk State. Match time is set for 6 p.m. inside The Burr.

HU (4-10, 1-1 MEAC) looks to continue its momentum before a five-match road swing, beginning in Baltimore at Morgan State (Oct. 8) and Coppin State (Oct. 10).
 
Freshman middle blocker Cimone Woodard (Missouri City, Texas) ranks among conference leaders in blocks per set (0.87, 4^th) and hitting percentage (.296, 6^th).
 
NORFOLK STATE
 
Norfolk State (4-9, 0-2 MEAC) enters the weekend on a three-match skid, including a 3-0 loss versus Delaware State (Sept. 26).
 
Junior Shonte Seale sits among the league leaders in kills per set (3.12) while Gracie Teeter ranks seventh in blocks per set (0.83).
 
LAST TIMEOUT
 
Sunday (Sept. 26), the Bison defeated Maryland Eastern Shore in three sets at The Burr (25-20, 25-19, 25-14).
 
Junior Alex Smith (New Orleans) led the way with a match-high 10 kills while producing a .318 hitting percentage.
