“Where Are They Now?” Featuring Marques Ogden

Former Bison standout turned inspirational speaker

WASHINGTON (August 5, 2021) – After a remarkable four-year (1998-2002) collegiate career at Howard University, Marques Ogden was selected in the 2003 National Football League (NFL) Draft as an offensive lineman by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He became the first and only Bison offensive line to be drafted.

Five years later, he decided to retire from the league and pursue a career in construction and contracting.

At age 27, Ogden founded a construction company called Kayden Premier Enterprises where the company experienced fast growth. In 2010, Ogden won The African-American Subcontractor of the Year Award in the state of Maryland.

Despite the early success, his business eventually went bankrupt, losing almost two million dollars on one project in a matter of 90 days.

Showcasing extreme resilience and determination, Ogden worked part-time as a custodian before becoming an inspirational speaker, executive coach, marketing leader, and best-selling author.

Now, he aims to help to build the success of others.
