WASHINGTON (March 17, 2021) – Howard University women's volleyball team returns home for a pair of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) matchups against rival Morgan State (MSU). Thursday (March 18) and Friday (March 19) matches are scheduled for 6 p.m. inside Burr Gymnasium.

MATCHUP PREVIEW
This weekend's contests conclude the four-match regular season series between HU and MSU. Morgan State won the first two matchups in Baltimore.
On Feb. 12, HU dropped its MEAC opener at MSU in straight sets (20-25, 18-25, 20-25) inside the Hill Field House.
Nearly a month later (March 8), the Bison came up short against Morgan State, falling to the Lady Bears in five sets (15-25, 25-17, 14-25, 26-24, 10-15).
HOWARD
Howard (2-8, 1-7 MEAC) seeks to break its losing streak and get back into the win column. With only four league matches remaining, HU is looking to make a final push for a spot in the MEAC Tournament.
Sophomore
Tamar Wells (Apopka, Fla.) leads the club in hitting percentage (.290) while setters
Kayla Diaz (Nanuet, N.Y.) and
Milexa Cardona (Kissimmee, Fla.) are among the conference leaders in service aces per set with 0.45 and 0.38, respectively.
MORGAN STATE
MSU (3-3, 2-2 MEAC) enters the weekend looking to snap its brief two-match slide. Morgan State defeated HU after a month-long hiatus but dropped the last two contests against MEAC foes Coppin State, 1-3, and Delaware State, 0-3.
Tylar Roberson and Mykaela Ross spearhead the Lady Bears attack, ranking among the conference leaders in kills per set with 3.22 and 2.17, respectively.
LAST TIMEOUT
Thursday (March 11), the women's volleyball team fell to Delaware State in three straight sets (7-25, 23-25, and 16-25) at home. Redshirt junior
Marcelle Butler (Canton, Ga.) recorded six kills, followed by Wells with five kills in the loss.
The next night (March 12), the Bison fell to Delaware State in straight sets (14-25, 18-25, 19-25). Wells had a team-high six kills while producing a .750 hitting percentage in the loss.
UP NEXT
On March 22, HU travels back to Dover, Del., for their final road test of the season against Delaware State. First-serve is slated for 6 p.m. at Memorial Hall.
