NORFOLK, VA -- Howard University Bison had a chance to beat North Carolina A&T at the buzzer, but the ball bounced off the rim as the time expired, falling to the Lady Aggies 59-57, to conclude their season in heart breaking fashion, in Norfolk Scope Arena, Saturday evening. 

HOW IT HAPPEN

Howard jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead, connecting on two-long balls from sharpshooter Jayla Thornton (SR-Newark, NJ). N.C. A&T answered back with four consecutive points in the paint. Kaiya Creek (FR-SEAT PLEASANT, MD) joined the party knocking down a three-pointer to extend the lead, 9-4 at the 7:20 mark that sparked a 10-6 run to close out the first quarter. 

In the second quarter, the Lady Aggies reversed the trend opening up the quarter on a 12-1 run, to take the lead, 23-20 at the 5:17 mark. The Bison retook the lead with five consecutive points cemented on another Thornton three-point shot. N.C. A&T closed the second quarter on an 8-2 run, to take a 31-28 lead into intermission. 

The Lady Aggies continue their momentum in the third quarter, extending the lead my nine with four minutes to go, when Iyanna Warren took over, recording seven straight points to roar back into the game, Brooklyn Fort-Davis added a jumper in the wing to tie the game at 44, with 25 seconds left intermission.

Both squads would tussle for the lead, when Howard had control with a four-point cushion, with a 1:18 to go, when N.C. A&T hit their first three-pointer with 50 seconds to go, the Bison missed two free throws with 11 seconds to go. After a Lady Aggies timeout, they found a shooter in the corner, who dropped the dagger with three seconds left, to escape with a 59-57 lead. 
 

Iyanna Warren recorded a career-high 21 points shooting 6-of-9 from the floor and 9-of-13 from the free-throw line, Thornton joined her in double-figure recording 12 points. Anzhane' Hutton recorded a game-high 14 rebounds and added nine points in the paint.
