WASHINGTON (October 7, 2021) – Howard University women's volleyball team begins its five-match road swing in Baltimore.
Friday (Oct. 8), HU takes on the Morgan State (MSU) Lady Bears at 6 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. match time at Coppin State (CSU) Sunday (Oct. 10).

HOWARD
HU (5-10, 2-1 MEAC) enters the weekend riding a two-match winning streak, including Friday's victory over Norfolk State.
Freshman
Bria Woodard (Missouri City, Texas) and
Cimone Woodard (Missouri City, Texas) spearhead the Bison attack with 153 and 118 kills, respectively. Third-year setter
Kayla Diaz (Nanuet, N.Y.) leads the team in total assists (296).
COPPIN STATE
Coppin (8-7, 2-1 MEAC) swept archrival Morgan State, 3-0, Friday (Oct. 1) at Hill Field House.
A trio of Eagles lead the MEAC in their respective categories with Miajavon Coleman topping the list in kills/set (3.73).
MORGAN STATE
Morgan State (3-14, 1-2 MEAC) is coming off a 3-0 home loss to crosstown rival Coppin State Friday (Oct. 1).
Freshman outside hitter Madison Grace has totaled a team-leading 185 kills (3.30 kills per set)
Entering the weekend, MSU leads the all-time series, 41-38. Last season, the Lady Bears won three of the four meetings against the Bison.
LAST TIMEOUT
On Oct. 1, the Bison rolled past Norfolk State in straight sets (25-14, 25-9, 25-14) after recording a season-high 19 service aces.
Senior
Busisiwe Banda (Cedar Park, Texas) led the way with a match-leading 11 service aces in the win.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
HU continues its road swing down South, beginning Thursday (Oct. 14).
On Oct. 14, the Bison face South Carolina State in Orangeburg, S.C. Match time is set for 6 p.m. The next day (Oct. 15), Howard goes to Durham, N.C. to square off against North Carolina Central. First serve at 7 p.m.
