WASHINGTON (January 29, 2021) – Howard University Women's Volleyball team won its season opener versus George Mason in three sets (25-23, 25-6, 25-17) inside Burr Gymnasium.
Freshman
Jennifer Bolden (Los Angeles) led the way with 10 kills in her collegiate debut.
After edging out the Patriots in set one, 25-23, HU dominate the second frame while capitalizing on several Mason miscues. Howard eclipsed a .400 hitting percentage whereas George Mason had six hitting errors.
HU dominance continued, hitting nearly .430 while the Patriots managed a .086 mark.
Juniors
Kailyn Williams (Arlington, Texas) and
Marcelle Butler (Canton, Ga.) added eight and five kills, respectively, in the win.
On Feb. 9, Howard travels crosstown to face George Washington in a nonconference matchup. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
