“Where Are They Now?” Featuring Quintin Reid

Milwaukee native makes impact in D.C. community

WASHINGTON (May 21, 2020) – From Milwaukee, Quintin Reid was a member of the Howard University track & field team where he served as one of the only sprinters during that time. In his collegiate career, he competed in several events, including the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Indoor and Outdoor Championships on multiple occasions.

In 2008, Reid earned his bachelor's degree from HU's School of Communications with a minor in sports administration.

A year later (2009), Reid co-founded the Friendship Collegiate Track & Field program where several student-athletes experienced and took part in the historic Penn Relays, held at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. Additionally, as a wide receiver coach for Friendship, he won four state titles while producing numerous NFL prospects.

The Milwaukee native serves many roles in the D.C. area, including athletic director, teacher, and coach. Reid has stayed close to his alma mater, working at Kipp D.C. Will Academy in Northwest, only minutes away from HU's campus. He also coaches basketball and track at the academy during football's off-season.

Maintaining his love for sports, Reid continues to be active during his spare time, even competing annually in flag football for a national championship with the D.C. Jets.

Quintin has one son.
