LANDOVER, Md. (February 29, 2020) – Howard University women's 4x400 relay squad of senior Oluchi Ike (Upper Marlboro, Md.), juniors Jessika Gbai (Philadelphia) and Ozioma Scott (Georgetown, Guyana) and freshman Dasia Wilson (Philadelphia) finished second overall at the 2020 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships. For their performance, the four Bison received All-MEAC recognition.
 
The team recorded a 3:45.07 mark, finishing second only to North Carolina A&T State (3:42.07).
 
Individually on the track, Gbai took part in the women's 60-meter and 200-meter dashes where she placed sixth (7.56/personal best) and fourth (24.10), respectively, while Scott claimed fifth overall in the 400-meter (56.06).
 
Second-year runner Melanie White (Orlando, Fla.) also competed in a pair of events Saturday, earning fourth (2:18.95) and eight (5:13.47), respectively, in the women's 800-meter and 1-mile races.
 
In the field, jumpers Ja'Tae Joyner (Bowie, Md.) and Rachel Edler (Stone Mountain, Ga.) finished seventh (11.72 meters) and eighth (11.71 meters), respectively, in the triple jump.
 
Third-year thrower Kaylah Clark (Miami) earned fifth place in the women's shot put, tossing over 41 feet (12.73 meters).
 
HU takes a few weeks off until they gear up for the outdoor season, starting March 19-21 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational.
