Box Score NORFOLK, VA -- The Howard University men's basketball team slow start was too much to overcome as the Bison fell to the Norfolk State University Spartans ( 14-15, 10-4 MEAC ) Saturday Night at the Joseph Echols Hall.
Howard (2-27, 0-14 MEAC) fell behind early before knotting the game at seven when Norfolk State sunk one from downtown to spark a 14-5 run with 11 minutes left in the first half to take a 21-12 lead.
The Spartans finished the first half outscoring the Bison 24-17, taking a 49-26 lead into intermission.
Norfolk connected eight times from beyond the arc and scored 15 points off of turnovers to control the first half.
Howard came out of halftime on a 14-8 run to cut the lead 40-57.
NSU countered with a 19-8 run and cruised to the final stanza defeating HU 89-59.
Norfolk State held the advantage in all statistical categories. Â

Nate Garvey paced Howard recording a team-high 16 points, Freshman Bristol Wayne Jr. scored eleven points and pulled down six rebounds. Senior
Charles Williams struggled from the floor shooting 1-of-10 from the floor, his lowest output of the season.
