Lindsey Walton played for the Howard University women's soccer team where she was a four-year starter (2002-05) at goalkeeper. During her collegiate career, the Pittsburgh native averaged seven saves per match.

In 2006, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Sports Administration. After graduation, she began working as a news producer at WJLA/NewsChannel 8 in Washington, D.C. While at WJLA, she produced various local daily news broadcasts. After nearly a decade of producing, she left the news to be the Communications Director for D.C. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson, where she has been since 2015.

Lindsey remains active in athletics, including flag and tackle football, as well as refereeing adult soccer in D.C.
