WASHINGTON (September 14, 2019) – Howard University women's soccer team wraps up its brief two-match homestand when Virginia Military Institute (VMI) comes to The District Sunday (Sept. 15). Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Greene Stadium.

Friday (Sept. 6), the Bison opened the homestand by knocking off Robert Morris, 2-1, at Greene Stadium.
At the 37-minute mark, sophomore
Arianna Morgan (Oklahoma City) found junior
Elexa Pierson (Kansas City, Mo.) for a shot, but RMU recovered; however, third-year forward
Bayley Carmichael (Houston) cleaned up off the ricochet and gave the Bison a 1-0 advantage.
After intermission, sophomore
Thalia Boucher (Toronto, Canada) provided an insurance goal at the 57-minute mark and gave HU a commanding 2-0 lead.

HU (2-1) looks to remain unbeaten at Greene Stadium (2-0). Currently, the Bison are riding a four-match home winning streak at The Hilltop since last year. This season, three Bison have scored a goal, including match-winners from Boucher and Morgan. Senior goalkeeper

VMI
VMI (1-5) looks to snap its four-match losing skid after starting the year 1-1. The squad has been limited on the offensive end, scoring goals in only one contest this year. In the victory over Delaware State, 4-0, four Keydets recorded a goal.
