LEESBURG, Va. (July 11, 2019) – In June, Howard University Assistant Athletic Director for Budget Krystle Higgins attended the 2019 Women Leaders in College Sports (WLCS) Institute for Administrative Advancement (IAA) East at the Lansdowne Resort. The event provided women in college athletics leadership development while offering four nights of lodging and meal expenses.
 
"My experience at WLCS Institute for Administrative Advancement East was extremely valuable for both my personal and professional development," said Higgins. "The biggest takeaways were building meaningful relationships, marketing my brand and lifting others. These are crucial elements to be a successful college athletics administrator."
 
The primary goals were to: improve work skills specific to athletic administration (fundraising, sports supervision, crisis management); develop strategies to determine your path toward career advancement; create a new accountability network of women who will support you in your career path and self-exploration to discover the best version of professional-and-personal self.
 
"I am thankful to the Women Leaders in College Sports organization for their continued efforts to champion women to become passionate, strong, resilient and inspiring leaders," Higgins concluded.
 
To be eligible, you must: be a current Women Leaders in College Sports member; at least three years of full-time intercollegiate athletics administration experience; currently working in athletics or desires to move into athletics administration and able to attend the entire week of the Institute.
