Lauryn Galloway (East Brunswick, N.J.) and junior
Oluchi Ike (Upper Marlboro, Md.) took home Howard University Bison of the Month, sponsored by Kimpton Carlyle Hotel Dupont Circle and Kimpton Glover Park Hotel, for their astonishing performances in May. The announcement came Thursday afternoon.
Women's Track & Field-Lauryn Galloway-Senior-East Brunswick, N.J.
Galloway ended her collegiate career by winning the 2019 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Women's Javelin title. The New Jersey native capped off Championship Saturday (May 4) with a new school record, tossing over 137 feet (41.83 meters) while scoring 10 points for HU. As a result, she shattered a three-year mark, which landed her on the All-MEAC First Team.
Women's Track & Field-Oluchi Ike-Junior-Upper Marlboro, Md.
On May 4, Ike's dominance carried over into Championship Saturday where she won the 2019 MEAC Outdoor Women's 400-meter hurdles with a new season-best (58.28). The Maryland product tallied 10 points while being named to the All-MEAC First Team. Nearly three weeks later (May 24), after advancing to Friday's NCAA East Preliminary Quarterfinals, Ike finished 15th overall, despite setting a new personal best with a 58.14 mark.

Mekhi Abbott (Men's Track & Field): Abbott highlighted Championship Saturday by winning the 2019 MEAC Outdoor Men's Javelin title with a new personal best (56.70 meters; 186 feet).
Kalita Dennis (Softball): Dennis was selected to the 2019 MEAC All-Tournament team after finishing the tourney with a .941 slugging percentage.
Jackie Jones (Softball): Jones was named to the 2019 MEAC All-Tournament team after batting .438 (7-of-16) in a five-game span.
