Howard’s Clark Wins MEAC Field Athlete of the Week

Sophomore thrower’s best weekend of the year

NORFOLK, Va. (April 24, 2019) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its men's & women's track and field weekly honors where Howard University sophomore Kaylah Clark (Miami) won the league's field athlete of the week. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.
 
Clark had her best weekend as a Bison at the 2019 Morgan Legacy, setting season-best in the women's hammer throw (48.04m; 157'7"), shot put (12.42m; 40'9") and discus (41.62m; 136'6"). As a result, the Miami native earned top-10 conference marks in all three events.
 
Junior hurdler Uchechi Onuoha (Yardly, Pa.) received honorable mention after winning the 100-meter hurdles at the Morgan Legacy with a season-best 13.79, ranking sixth in the MEAC.
 
North Carolina A&T State's (NCAT) Cambrea Sturgis earned MEAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week.
 
On the men's side, NCAT's Trevor Stewart was named MEAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week while Norfolk State's Bobby Price claimed the conference's field athlete of the week.

On April 25-27, Director of Track & Field David Oliver and the Bison travel to the City of Brotherly Love for the prestigious Penn Relays, hosted by the University of Penn.
