NORFOLK, Va., April 24, 2019— The 2019 MEAC Men's and Women's Tennis Championships will be held Thursday-Saturday, April 25-27, at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center on the campus of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. Howard University's Women's Tennis team is ranked second in the Northern division.
Howard (2) is set to face North Carolina Central (3) from the Southern division on Thursday April 25, 2019 at 11:00 am. Both Howard and North Carolina Central are (3-2) in conference play this season. The winner of the match will face the winner of the South Carolina State (1) vs Coppin State (4) in the semifinals on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 9:00 am.
Both women's tennis teams have met each other three times since 2013. Howard University's record against North Carolina Central University is (1-2). In their last meeting, former bison, Jessica Josiah, displayed her grit by acquiring the only win for HU that day.

HU's men's tennis team has met with NCCU's men's tennis team seven times since 2011. Howard University's record against North Carolina Central University is (1-6). In their last meeting, Cole Gittens scored HU's lone point in a losing effort against NCCU's Sebastian Bromley.
The 2019 MEAC Women's Tennis Championships will begin with quarterfinal action on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. Semifinal action for the women begins at 9 a.m. on Friday. Saturday's championship matches will kick off at 9 a.m. for the women.
The 2019 MEAC Men's Tennis Championships will begin with quarterfinal action on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Semifinal action for the men begins at 12 p.m. on Friday. Saturday's championship matches will kick off for the men at 12 p.m.
The championship is free and open to the public.
