Tennessee (March 18, 2019) - Howard's Bowling team competed in 12 matchups during the "Columbia 300 Music City Classic," hosted by Vanderbilt University.
The Bison went 2-2 on Friday, with a 970-852 win over Prairie View A&M and one against North Central College with a score of 907-828. The two loses came from Stephen F. Austin and McKendree. They finished the day, ranked number 20, knocking down 4,510 pins.
Saturday the Bison had four losses, but finished with a close 810-805 victory against Kentucky Wesleyan.
Sunday was an improvement, as they won two of their three matches. It started off with a 4-3 series loss to Kentucky Wesleyan. The Bison followed this with a 4-1 takeover of North Central College and a close 4-3 win over Mount Aloysius.
Howard finished 25th in the tournament standings, finishing 3-6. The team knocked over 8,691 pins averaging 173.1 pins per game. The best performance came from Philips, who scored a 230. The highest average belonged to Lewis with 191.0 per game.
