February 27, 2019 - Howard University Athletics shared the recent announcement of former Howard University quarterback and coach, Pep Hamilton, as the new general manager and head coach of XFL DC.
Hamilton began his football career as a quarterback for Howard University where he subsequently received his first job as a quarterback's coach. Since then, Hamilton has coached at Stanford University and most recently at the University of Michigan. Hamilton has held professional coaching positions with several NFL teams, including the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears.
This is the first head coach position for Hamilton. The District, however, is familiar ground. "I grew up in Charlotte and I identified some of the most important things in my life when I arrived to DC and attended Howard University," he stated. It's a full circle moment for Hamilton as he returns to the city of his alma mater.
