WASHINGTON (February 22, 2019) – Howard University men's basketball team closes out the regular season with four consecutive road games, beginning in Baltimore. Saturday (Feb. 23), HU battles Coppin State inside PEC Arena at 4 p.m. Two nights later (Feb. 25), the Bison take on Morgan State in a rematch. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

LAST TIMEOUT
The Howard University men's basketball team concluded the home portion of the schedule.
They lost to North Carolina A&T State Saturday (Feb. 16), 85-81. Sophomore guard
RJ Cole (Union, N.J.) finished with 20 points, including 10 after intermission.
Monday (Feb. 18), the Bison fell, 98-90, to North Carolina Central. Junior guard
Charles Williams (Richmond, Va.) had 24 points in the loss.
MATCHUP PREVIEWS
HOWARD
Howard (12-15, 6-6 MEAC) begins a four-game road trip. Since the new year, HU has won four straight away from The Burr.
"We've been playing great on the road," said Howard men's basketball head coach
Kevin Nickelberry. "It gives us a chance to be more focused."
This season, Cole leads the conference with 21.3 points and 6.3 assists while also ranking fourth with 1.6 steals per contest. Williams is just behind Cole in scoring with 18.7 points. Add in redshirt junior
Chad Lott (Shreveport, La.) to the mix, who ranks seventh in the conference in scoring at 14.8 points.
Howard will need to also get contributions elsewhere and have gotten that in sophomore
Zion Cousins (Upper Marlboro, Md.), who ranks fifth in the conference at 7.5 rebounds per game.
COPPIN STATE
Coppin State's (6-21, 6-6 MEAC) Dejuan Clayton leads the squad at 14.6 points per game, but his 19.3 average in conference games is second in the MEAC.
The frontcourt duo of Cedric Council and Chad Andrews-Fulton are both averaging nearly six rebounds per night.
Saturday's showdown will be the 67
th meeting between HU and Coppin State with the Eagles leading the series, 43-23.
MORGAN STATE
Since the last meeting, Morgan State (8-16, 3-8 MEAC) has dropped six out of their last seven games with the lone win coming against Bethune-Cookman, 77-71.
Monday's clash will be the 109th meeting between Howard and Morgan State with the Bears leading the series, 64-44.
Before facing the Bison, MSU takes on conference-leading Norfolk State Saturday.

Saturday (March 2), Howard's road swing continues in Savannah, Ga. where the Savannah State Tigers await. Game-time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
